Not so long ago, Euro 2020 ended, the triumphant of which was the Italian national team. Quite unexpectedly, the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was chosen as the best player in the tournament. It is noteworthy that the goalkeeper of "Squadra Azzurra" at Euro 2020 was in the status of a free agent. He is only 22, and he can be safely considered a legend of Milan. But Donnarumma decided not to renew his contract with his native club but to try himself in a top club and signed a 5-year contract with PSG.

A couple of days ago, it was Donnarumma who would have become the main goalkeeper of our symbolic team. So this place is occupied by the Argentinean experienced goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero, 34

At one time, Sergio Romero was the main goalkeeper of the Argentine national team, played well for Sampdoria. In 2015, he decided to move to Manchester United, where he sat behind the Spaniard David De Gea for many years.

If you believe the rumors, then there is a demand for this goalkeeper. There are even top clubs among the contenders, such as Juventus. But naturally, in the Turin club, nobody Romero nobody will offer the place of the main goalkeeper. Also among potential buyers are named: Everton, Celta, Roma.

Right back: Elsid Hisay, 27

The Albanian defender did not renew his agreement with Napoli, although he played for the Neapolitans since 2015. Before that, he played for one more Italian club, Empoli. Most likely, Hisay's next place of work will be Italy. The Italian media, in particular the Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, claims that Elseid will start the new season in a Lazio shirt, where Maurizio Sarri became the head coach, with whom the player just managed to work together in Naples.

Left-back: Patrick van Anholt, 30

Patrick van Anholt moved to Chelsea at an early age, but he failed to catch hold of the main team in the London club; but he managed to gain a foothold in the less-status clubs of the English Premier League. The 30-year-old Dutchman's last two clubs were Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

Now the player is credited with a substantive interest from Turkish clubs, in particular from Fenerbahce.

Center-back: Jerome Boateng, 32

The truly legendary defender for German football ended up playing for Bayern Munich. He is only 32; even despite the loss of speed qualities, due to his experience, he will probably still be able to play at a high level for several years. Moreover, the demand for Boateng is decent. Most often, the name of this footballer in the press is associated with Tottenham and Roma. Monaco was also on this list, but the French disowned this kind of rumor.

Center-back: Giorgio Chiellini, 36

The main central defender of the newly-made European champion, the Italian national team remains without a contract. His contract with Juventus expired on June 30. Since that time, the management of the Turin club has not contacted the player.

According to rumors, Chiellini has no offers from other clubs. But the player himself does not want to consider any options until he realizes that Juventus no longer needs his services.

Center midfielder: Paulinho, 32

Brazilian Paulinho played for Tottenham before moving to China, but in 2015, the desire to earn some good money tipped the scales towards moving to Chinese Guangzhou. Paulinho had a short lease in Barcelona in his history, after which he returned to China. This summer, the club, and the footballer broke the agreement by mutual agreement, and now Paulinho is looking for a new club. Rumor has it that Barcelona will be the favorite in the fight for the player.

Center midfielder: Juliano, 31

Not a stranger to Ukrainian football, Brazilian Juliano shone in the Dnipro Juande Ramos at the start of his career. After some time, he returned to Brazil but soon returned to Europe to Zenith. After the Russian club came the Turkish career period. At first, Juliano played for Fenerbahce. The last club was Istanbul Basaksehir, who decided to terminate the contract with the player.

While this player's future is unknown, there is a possibility that he will return to Zenith again.

Attacking midfielder: Alex Teixeira, 31

Another Brazilian, Alex Teixeira, is even more familiar to the Ukrainian fan. In 2016, Teixeira left Shakhtar for record money and went to the Chinese Jiangsu Suning. Teixeira's contract with this club ended in January, and since then, the player has been unable to find a new team. Closest to the signing of Teixeira is the Turkish Besiktas, but rumor has it that the "eagles" will not agree on the terms of the contract with the player. They fail to satisfy the Brazilian's financial appetites.

Left-winger: Franck Ribery, 38

Legendary French footballer Franck Ribery, whose best football years are behind him, has ended his partnership with the Italian Fiorentina. Frank himself was disappointed with how he was treated in the Florentine club, and until recently, nothing was reported about the future.

Nevertheless, the 38-year-old player is determined to continue his career and is not going to give up. There was no information about any contenders for the player yet.

Right winger: Lionel Messi, 34

There is certainly no need to talk about it for a long time; it's about Lionel Messi. The saga of his bargaining with Barcelona and his new contract is known to everyone who is even slightly interested in football. The Catalans are experiencing some kind of financial difficulties. They are not able to offer Messi a new contract on the same terms, and the Argentine is not particularly eager to concede. It would seem a dangerous situation, but no. At the moment, almost no club can painlessly meet Lionel's financial needs.

Therefore, the most likely outcome will be signing a new contract with Barcelona, where both sides will meet each other halfway and find some kind of compromise.

Forward: Stevan Jovetic, 31

Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic has played for Monaco since 2017. Last season, Jovetic played 29 matches for the Monegasques in all tournaments, scored six goals, and assisted.

The parties decided not to renew their cooperation, and now the forward will have to look for a new club since there are options. The clubs of the Italian Serie A are called the most interested in Jovetić's services. Roman Lazio is called the favorite in this fight.

Not all famous players who are still without a club are represented in our symbolic team. The following famous footballers are also still free agents: Nikola Maksimovic, Andres Townsend, Diego Costa, Mamadou Sako, David Luis, Andre Ayew, Kevin Gaimeiro, Mehdi Benatia, Nathaniel Kline, Hatem Ben Arfa, Elyakim Mangala, Shkodran Mustafi, Facundo Ferreira, Gary Cahill, and many others.

Among the Ukrainian footballers without contracts, among others, it is worth highlighting: Vladislav Kulach, Vladlen Yurchenko, Bogdan Butko, Pavel Orihovsky, Yevgeny Seleznev, Artem Milevsky, Dmitry Khlebas, Nikolai Morozyuk, Dmitry Chygrynsky, Yevgeny Khacheridi, and Roman Zozulya.

Indeed, many of these players will have time to find a job before starting the new season. Many clubs should take a closer look because this list contains worthy candidates who can significantly help solve the season's problems.
